SEO is primarily geared towards lifting up a site's organic (AKA natural) search rankings, through keyword placement, content creation and optimisation, and link building (among other techniques) to improve the user’s experience on your website and boost your site’s authority. It’s a process that can take a few months of investment before it takes off fully, but when it does the results compound quickly and lead to significant long-term lifts in traffic, lead generation, and sales.

Same, same, but different, SEM combines organic search with PPC (pay-per-click) advertising via Google Ads, to boost your position in the search results. This two-pronged approach gives you much greater control over where your website features in search results, giving you immediate visibility. Though, as it involves PPC, it can cost significantly more than SEO by itself.
